Abstract

The research study examined the “The Impact of mass media campaign against HIV/AIDS among students (Case Study of Osun state Polytechnic, Iree Students)”. This study is aimed to ascertain the impact of Mass Media Campaign aimed at curbing the spread of the disease Aids among students in Osun state Polytechnic, The objective of the study is also to find out through sample survey whether the teenagers are really getting sufficient information about AIDS blue so as to enable them inform their opinion about the diseases. The study looks account of the sex, marital status, “Occupational variables that were of relevance to the study. In this study Agenda setting theory and uses and gratification theory was used. The study adopted survey method of research whereby questionnaire was used as research instrument. Total copies of 100 questionnaire was administered among Osun state Polytechnic, Iree Students, total copies of 98 questionnaire was recovered and was inlayed in chapter four of the study. The study concludes that that Mass media in the campaign against HIV/AIDS has, to a great extent influenced the people of Osun state Polytechnic, Iree students positively towards sexual behavior, restructured their sexual attitude and scare them from indulging in casual sex. The findings therefore recommends that further research on this topic should be extended to other institutions to see the extent at  students  have accepted and believed in the existence of HIV/AIDS.
